DJs pel canvi (DJs for Change)t organizes placemaking actions based on the capability of music to attract and engage a variety of citizens. Through music sessions, citizens inhabit evicted public spaces and meet their community.
DJs pel canvi (DJs for Change) organises placemaking actions based on the capability of music to attract and engage a variety of citizens. Through music sessions, citizens inhabit evicted public spaces and meet their community.
Main ongoing projects are:
- "DJ for a day" Fun workshop held at the facilities of Plastic Academy and aimed at associations / foundations of groups at risk of exclusion and / or vulnerable
- "Dijous Melosos Solidaris" Every first Thursday of the month the burger restaurant La Melosa in Barcelona undertakes throughout the day to allocate € 1 of each burger and accompaniment to a social / cultural entity. This culminates with live performance from 8pm by local DJs and artists.
- The CanviFest! is a social and musical day aiming at engaging artisan social organizations, local activities and local artists and DJs. It is a day of creation of synergies and social return, being a solidarity festival where part of the incomes go to the entities. The fact of having an involved network of entities and artisans allows the generation of new opportunities to raise awareness and involve the public.. A new value is added to entities in the third sector and the local musicians and DJs. It is also a great opportunity to empower local or neighborhood stores, so they can showcase their products. The main Goal is the realization of a social, musical and playful day open to all the public and where they are developed: a network of synergies, connections and awareness through activities and actions..
